Overview of the role
The Social Media Content Creator will be responsible for creating compelling, high-quality content that brings NIE’s(Newspapaer in Education) work in schools to life. This is a hands-on, detail-oriented role requiring strong visual sense, clear writing, and the ability to create content that drives growth and engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Content Creation
● Create short-form videos (Reels, Shorts, etc.) for social media platforms.
● Design static posts, carousels, and stories aligned with NIE’s brand identity.
● Write clear, concise captions and copy that communicate impact and purpose. On-Ground
Content Capture
● Visit schools and events to capture real stories, moments, and testimonials.
● Work closely with on-ground teams to identify strong content opportunities.
● Ensure accuracy, sensitivity, and authenticity in storytelling.
Design & Detail Orientation
● Maintain high standards of visual quality, consistency, and design.
● Pay close attention to framing, sound, editing, and layout.
● Ensure content is platform-optimized and on-brand.
Growth & Engagement
● Use tools and platforms to support audience growth and engagement.
● Track basic performance metrics and iterate content accordingly.
● Stay updated on social media trends and formats relevant to education and youth.
What We’re Looking For
● 3–6 years of experience creating social media content for brands or organizations.
● Strong video shooting and editing skills (mobile and/or camera).
● Solid design sense and experience with tools like Canva, Adobe, or similar.
● Excellent writing skills — concise, clear, and purposeful.
● Comfortable traveling to schools and working on ground.
● Self-driven, organized, and highly detail oriented.
